Our Home: The Historic Sarina Courthouse

The members of the Sarina Community Arts and Crafts Cooperative Ltd operate the Sarina Tourist Art and Craft Centre and the Sarina Visitor Information Centre out of the Historical Sarina Courthouse. This building, built in 1901, has a proud heritage of serving the Sarina community, first as the Courthouse then as a School Hall and Classroom  and finally as the Craft Centre and Accredited Visitor Information Centre.

Since 1995 the building has formed the  centre piece of our precint which includes the Historical Sarina Watchhouse built 1901 (under renovation) and soon the historical school building of the Mount Pelion State School   built in 1928 (in negotiation).

In 2001 the cooperative gained accreditation from Tourism Queensland as a recognised centre for local and regional information. We are proudly a member of the Mackay Regional Tourism Association.

Our Centre is located in the Sarina Field of Dreams Parkland at the Southern entrance to Sarina adjacent to the Sarina Railway Station.
